At long last it has finally arrived. Bruno Gatinet and I set out to make some music about 2 years ago, despite living on opposite sides of the Atlantic. As of yesterday that dream has come true. The debut album by Bruno & James is now available.
Last night we celebrated with an album release party at crowdSPRING in Chicago. Daphne Sidor, Michael Plishka and Marc Stevens took turns on the stage as well. A special thanks to Diana Oppenheim for filling in on piano. It was great to perform for our fans, friends and family. Merci!

Thanks to everyone who attended the Abbey Pub show last Sunday. Good times were had by all. It was great to meet and hang with the other acts - Michael Plishka, Rob C Shadowlife, Kenny Rox, and The Visuals.
Alan the sound guy was kind enough to record my set, and Mike managed to film most of it on his iPhone. This video is the combination of both.
Lastly, here’s the free MP3 from the video, A Thousand Feet Per Second.

Today is my birthday. To celebrate I am releasing a new single, The Passenger. This is a song I have adored for a long time and always wanted to cover. The inspiration hit me a few months ago, and now I want to share it with you. Download it now from BandCamp.

On the evening of John Lennon’s 70th birthday I recorded my own version of this classic tune. 3 hours, 2 guitars, 1 piano and myself. This version is dedicated to my grandfather, who passed the next morning.

Apparently AmieStreet is moving to Amazon. Darn. I like Amazon, but I really liked the AmieStreet model and I just finished putting my new EP, motion, into their store. I was looking forward to adding more of my music there. Oh well. All things shall pass, I guess.
Here’s the email I received this morning:
Dear jamescollin,
As of September 22, 2010, all AmieStreet.com pages will be forwarded to Amazon.com and you will no longer be able to use AmieStreet.com or any of its services.
Regarding your Amie Street account, please make sure you download all of your purchased music by September 22, 2010. The music you have previously downloaded and store locally will continue to play as normal.
The folks at Amazon have been our advisers since they invested in Amie Street almost four years ago, and we believe we’ve found a great home for AmieStreet.com and are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for you.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support, help, patience and enthusiasm, and we sincerely hope you’ll continue with us on our journey with the new Songza.com.
Thanks for an incredible four years!
-Elias, Elliott, Eric, Josh and Peter

Last weekend I released my new EP, mot.ion, via BandCamp and through my site. For the rest of my online distribution I used TuneCore.
I’m very happy to announce that it is now available through iTunes, Amazon, eMusic, Napster, Spotify, Zune and Amie Street.

I just released my second “official” album, an EP of 5 electronic tracks, called “mot.ion”. It will be available in dozens of online stores for you to purchase, including iTunes, Amazon, BandCamp, CDBaby, ReverbNation and many more to come. You can also download it for free, right now. Head to http://jamescollin.bandcamp.com to get it.
Along with MP3, AAC and WAV versions you can also get hi-res artwork, some sheet music and the original GarageBand files for your own use. If you make something with them, I would love to hear it. Just upload it to my dropbox on SoundCloud.
Many thanks to my friends and family for support and feedback as well as the superb mastering work by Dietrich Shoenemann at Complete Mastering.
